Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning materials that anyone can use, adapt and share. This course gives teams a practical path from “we should open our knowledge” to a licensed, published resource.
Structure
Session 1: foundations and planning
- What OER are: definition, principles, benefits and challenges
- Examples across disciplines
- Tools and platforms for creating and publishing, with pros and cons
- A project-planning template, worked individually or in groups, with feedback
Homework (one day): complete the template with an OER idea and prepare a short presentation in any accessible, open format.
Session 2: rights and sharing
- Copyright and open licensing, how to choose and apply a Creative Commons licence
- Participants present their projects and get peer feedback
- Wrap-up on needs, resources and best practices for creating and sharing OER
The whole course material is published openly as a GitBook under a CC BY 4.0 licence, so it can be reused and adapted by other teams.
